Coldwell banker career

PROJECT SUMMARY

Coldwell Banker is the oldest and most established ‘residential real estate’ franchise system in North America. The website is a one point information site for buying and selling properties as well as for job seekers. As a UX consultant, my aim was to make the Coldwell Banker's career page more approachable to candidates. Starting with product evaluation and heuristic analysis for identifying issues, I created lo-fi wireframes for quick ideation. Collaborating with a visual designer, we transformed these into high-fidelity mockups, which gained client approval. This success led to the opportunity to redesign and rebrand the entire website.

PROCESS

The primary goal was to enhance the career page's UX and responsiveness within existing brand guidelines. To expedite results, we employed the following process-

01 EVALUATION

Product analysis was conducted using heuristic principles and common observations, providing valuable insights. Here are examples from a couple of pages:

02 TARGET IMPROVEMENTS

  • Content Organization: Prioritize content based on relevance
  • Highlight Career Benefits: Emphasize the advantages of career options to attract applicants
  • FAQs and Contact: Include 'FAQs' and 'Contact Us' for support and documentation
  • Success Stories: Showcase success stories prominently above-the-fold for motivation
  • Consistent Interaction: Maintain a uniform interaction pattern unless content demands otherwise
  • Header Elements: Ensure the header contains the logo and language options
  • Search Consistency: Maintain search functionality consistency across career pages

03 PERSONAS

Personas were developed based on our understanding of the focus groups.

04 CONTENT ARRANGEMENT

Based on the findings from the product analysis, it became evident that content rearrangement was necessary. The career page needed to not only cater to the needs of job seekers but also inspire individuals seeking new career opportunities or advancements. To achieve this, I collaborated with stakeholders and utilized the card sorting method to determine the most suitable content arrangement that aligned with the user journey.

05 DESIGN

I rapidly generated low-fidelity wireframes encompassing both desktop and mobile versions to facilitate discussions with stakeholders. These wireframes served as a foundation for the creation of final designs, which were presented for approval before implementation.

What did I learn ?

The project resulted into a bigger work opportunity helped us getting more business, taught me the value of leveraging smaller opportunities to achieve substantial success.
